The educational model of the Universidad Abierta y a Distancia de México (Open and Distance University of Mexico) is to meet Mexican’s society’s demand for higher education through a flexible curriculum. At the center of the model are the students, who explore and administer their own learning process.  Around this core are the elements that support them: from their professors to the technological tools that all come  together to constitute the learning community. Students interact with all the internal and external agents and elements of the learning process that surround them and symbolize the dynamic relationship among the components.

Accessibility in University Access and Support Centers (CAAU)

An important part of the model is the CAAU, where students who wish to do so may come for on-site advice, to study, and follow-up on their academic activities. These centers are meeting places housed in public higher educational institutions of the technological system throughout Mexico.
